We decided to celebrate our wedding in our native region, in the wonderful location called Corte del Lago, and we selected the best professional able to capture the most significant moments while at the same time valuing all the places we loved.
We have chosen Luca for his incredible art in “carpe diem”, catching the moments, the sensations, the expressions and the colours.
The album produced by Luca represents a clear and emotional story of that Day, which will remain in our minds as an unforgettable moment, full of amazing sensations.
Villa Corte del Lago is located in Poncetta, just outside of Bellagio (Lake Como).
The main building dates back to the mid XIX century and belongs to the Guido family since the beginning of the XX century.
After the wedding ceremony in the parish church of Limonta Alta (Oliveto Lario) celebrated by a family friend, the bride and groom planned a further blessing service at the Shrine of Madonna del Moletto (Our Lady of the Small Pier), down in the village of Limonta, overlooking the lake and surrounded by olive groves.
Giulia and Emanuele, with families, witnesses and the priest attended the blessing by the pier, while the rest of the guests were being hosted in the three boats moored in the cove just in front of them.
After this, the couple reached the Villa Corte del Lago in a row boat. It was 2012, and… yes I am the photographer of the villa since the beginning of its rental activity!

The venue Villa Aura del Lago (Bellagio), is simply beautiful and of course, Lake Como itself needs no introduction!
Because of the date (3rd October 2019), Bespoke Unique Weddings & Events wanted to give an Indian summer/autumnal feel, so they used a lot of copper and cinnamon type colors, lots of warm tones, and antiques where appropriate.
The bride was looking ethereal in a stunning Le Spose di Giò gown along with hair accessory from Tocados Le Touquet, and the groom wore a burgundy dress which is emerging as a trendy color, designed by Area 2 Rezzonico. The ceremony was organized by the lake where the guests enjoyed a joyous violin performance along with classical mocktails.
As the sun began to set, the charm of the outdoor dining terrace came to life. With lanterns, candles and twinkling fairy lights in the trees above the dining tables, the mood was set right.
A rustic Italian aperitivo was then enjoyed on the terrace, and later dinner was served in the beautifully decorated orangery dining room; providing a magical wedding reception atmosphere for Melissa and Clayton.

LET'S TAKE THIS WEDDING AS AN EXAMPLE...
Villa Aura del Lago is in the central part of Lake Como, which offers many different opportunities
Villa Aura del Lago is also a holiday villa. This is why it has fine and comfortable rooms for the getting ready.
However some couples – maybe it’s you? – prefer to stay in separate venues before the wedding ceremony.
In the case of this wedding it was the bride who chose a different villa, while the groom swam in the lake and got dress at Villa Aura del Lago.
Also the ceremony did not take place at the villa but in the garden of a public library.
After the wedding celebration, the bride and groom arrived at the villa on a motorboat, welcomed by guests.
Planning the entire wedding day in the villa is very comfortable, choosing different locations for the preparation, the ceremony and the photoshoot is more varied.
My editing below is a selection of ninety-two images selected from 1361 fine post-produced work taken by me and another professional photographer.
The delivered project included all the requested groups, the ceremony, and a lot of convivial situations and details not showed here.

For some years now, it has been difficult to obtain authorization for the Catholic ceremony all over Lake Como, because it is required to get married in one’s own parish.
For those of the Protestant faith, not far from the villa is the Anglican Church.

Booking a (really) local photographer
I told you that the central part of Lake Como has many wonderful sites that can be reached starting from Villa Aura del Lago.
This is a favorable opportunity if you wish to have a photo session of one or two hours.
Booking a taxi boat, I can calculate the required time for the desired amount of locations.
This is part among the advantages of booking a local photographer.
Rainy days
Indoor dinner at the villa
You know, Villa Aura del Lago is a wonderful location for al fresco dining, but in case of uncertain weather or rain it is really easy to take a last minute decision for the indoor solution.
The presence of a large canopy could allow to leave outside a part of the settings. The reception could also continue out again in case of ceased rain.
In addition, with or without the protection of two white umbrellas, at the blue hour a series of unforgettable images is guaranteed.

Historical venues on Lake Como can have some and, if you notice, the woman portrayed on the wall came down from the frame and joined the party! 🙂
